And then Alice goes through an acid fueled hell with people who force her to drink and threaten to chop her head off and in the end has nothing to show for it.
A fun chaotic ride at times with a lot of interesting visuals; effectively a prolonged drug trip you can watch on your television.
Not much of a "plot" to speak of, no character development. It's really just Alice wandering through a dream world and things keep happening to her.
Review by Candace M. I've never been a particular fan of this film, a lot just doesn't click and the film suffers because of it, there's almost no character designs in wonderland that I like.
Since the Cheshire Cats head is a different colour from his body it makes it look like he's wearing a gross stripey morph suit.
He definitely looks a lot cooler in the original illustrations. The mouths of a lot of the human characters just look bad to me aswell.
The final act is cool. Honestly the queen of hearts ain't too bad, if people annoyed me like that I would want them beheaded too. Things just kind of happen, and since it's all a dream there doesn't have to be a straightforward story but the story there is, is also kinda pointless because it's all just a dream.
Review by Merlin. So ist es auch nur passend, dass nachdem ich vor kurzem das zugrunde liegenden Buch gelesen habe nun den Klassiker von Disney wieder sah.
Begeistert bin ich noch immer, denn der Film entführt einen in eine magische Welt, ja wirklich in ein Wunderland. Die Hintergründe sind angenehm schlicht, dennoch verspielt und die Animation der Figuren, besonders der von Alice schaue ich einfach zu gerne zu.
Musikalisch ist besonders das Lied zu beginn zu loben, welches einen wörtlich dazu einlädt sich mit Alice ins Wunderland zu begeben.
