Now, despite all of that I felt that it's rather more fun than its immediate predecessor, particularly if you file it under 'turn your brain off, enjoy the action, one-liners and effects' and it does have occasional moments of inspiration - greater focus on Peter's scientific and technical talents and better Spider-Man costume design for example.
Just don't go looking for deep character exploration, intricate plotting or backstory. Andrew Garfield, who took over from Toby Maguire as Spiderman is the same.
We don't know what a continuation from Toby would have been like. Not sure about a remake really. Hope we're going to see more of Andrew as Spiderman, either as himself or part of the Avengers.
Great film and blue ray quality can't fault it. I am always blown away by how many amazing actors, directors, screenwriters etc and let us not forget money are thrown at these films for them to come out as just MEH!
