DeVito revealed that, prior to her death, he had shown her the final recording of the movie so that she was able to see Wilson's performance.
Devito and Perlman had also looked after Wilson during her mother's hospital stays and offered her distraction from the stress of the situation by inviting her to pool parties and sleepovers with their own children.
