Schroth war allerdings kein Nationalsozialist und distanzierte sich in seinen Memoiren später von diesen Tätigkeiten. Ein erstes Theaterengagement verschaffte ihm sein langjähriger Kollege Viktor de Kowa an dessen neu gegründetem Boulevardtheater in der Tribüne.
Dem Boulevard blieb der Schauspieler in den folgenden vier Jahrzehnten seiner Karriere treu.
